In a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman today, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed openness to resuming nuclear talks with the US, following the end of the 12-day conflict with Israel.
"We hope that talks between Iran and the US will begin soon and lead to positive results," Pezeshkian said. According to the Iranian president, the country is seeking a "fair and reasonable" agreement under the framework of international law, ensuring the inalienable rights of the Iranian people and contributing to the stability and development of the region.

Previously, Steve Witkoff, US President Donald Trump's special envoy to the Middle East, also said he had communicated with Iran both directly and through intermediaries. "I think these exchanges are very promising. We hope to be able to reach a lasting peace agreement that helps restore Iran," Witkoff said on 24/6.
He said it was time for the US delegation to sit down with Iran and reach a comprehensive agreement. The US president's special envoy is very confident that Washington and Tehran will achieve this.
Regarding the Iran-Israel conflict, Witkoff declared the conflict over, pointing out that the two countries have not attacked each other since the Trump-brokered ceasefire took effect.

"Since the conflict broke out, we have spoken to Iran about some peace measures. Iran's precondition has always been that Israel must stop its campaign. And when Israel, along with the US, had accomplished its objectives, President Trump approached both sides, pushing for a ceasefire. No one is shooting at each other anymore. It's over," Witkoff said.
US and Iranian delegations have held multiple rounds of talks since April on Tehran's nuclear program. The US wants to ensure Iran cannot build nuclear weapons, while Iran insists its nuclear program is peaceful.
The stalemate in these talks prompted Israel to launch Operation "Rising Lion," targeting Iranian nuclear and military sites. After 12 days of fighting, the two sides agreed to a ceasefire proposed by President Trump.
