The Israeli Prime Minister's office announced on 20/7 that Benjamin Netanyahu felt unwell the previous night and was examined at home by Dr. Alon Hershko, head of internal medicine at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. Dr. Hershko diagnosed Netanyahu with gastroenteritis caused by spoiled food.
Further tests showed Netanyahu is in good condition and the prime minister received fluids after becoming dehydrated. "The prime minister will rest at home for the next 3 days and work remotely as directed by his physician," the announcement stated.

The Jerusalem District Court canceled Netanyahu's hearings, scheduled for 21/7 and 22/7. This means the prime minister's hearings will be postponed until September, as Israeli courts are entering their summer recess until 5/9 and operating on a limited schedule.
Netanyahu's hearings, related to his corruption trial, have been postponed several times since they began in 12/2024, due to his health issues, the conflict in the Gaza Strip, the Iran-Israel conflict, his trips abroad, and his duties as prime minister.
Netanyahu, 75, has faced several health challenges in recent years. He underwent hernia surgery and took time off work for the flu in 3/2024, and had a prostate procedure 9 months later. In 2023, he also had surgery to implant a pacemaker.
