"We believe that the United States and President Donald Trump personally maintain the political will and desire to continue efforts to facilitate a solution regarding Ukraine. Therefore, it's understandable that President Trump is somewhat emotional when addressing this issue," Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on 19/9.
Peskov emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to resolve the conflict through diplomatic means and has "made significant efforts" to achieve that goal. "However, the Ukrainian government and European countries are doing everything possible to maintain the path of confrontation, hindering efforts to resolve the conflict peacefully," the Kremlin spokesperson said.

President Trump previously stated that the failure to end the Ukraine conflict is his "biggest disappointment." The American leader had believed he could easily resolve the conflict due to his personal relationship with President Putin, but that hasn't happened. "He really let me down," Trump said.
After returning to the White House, Trump intensified mediation efforts to end the war in Ukraine. The US president held a summit with his Russian counterpart on 15/8 in Alaska and subsequently met with European leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on 18/8. However, his efforts have yet to yield concrete results.
Despite expressing disappointment, Trump still believes Moscow and Kyiv will find a way to end the conflict, asserting that "there will be good news soon." The US president also urged European countries to stop buying Russian oil, arguing that lower oil prices would force Russia to abandon its campaign in Ukraine.
Russia's ambassador to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, said Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will meet with his US counterpart, Marco Rubio, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting next week. "The two sides will discuss a range of issues, both bilateral and multilateral," he said.
