General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith warmly congratulated Vietnam on the momentous occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. He affirmed that the victory of the August Revolution and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945 were a great source of motivation for Laos' national liberation cause. It also strongly encouraged revolutionary movements and the struggle for peace among oppressed peoples worldwide.

He said Laos solemnly celebrated the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day with the participation of more than 1,500 delegates, including many senior leaders and representatives of Lao ministries, branches, and organizations.

The Lao Party General Secretary and President considered Vietnam's achievements over the past 80 years to be shared achievements of the two countries. He expressed his deep impression of the Vietnamese people's ardent patriotism, witnessing the vibrant and proud atmosphere of the entire Vietnamese Party, people, and army in recent days.

In addition to strengthening cooperation in politics, defense, and security, the two leaders agreed to make efforts to elevate and create a breakthrough in economic cooperation commensurate with the political relationship. They aim to boost two-way trade, strengthen economic infrastructure connectivity, and focus on implementing strategic cooperation projects, creating new momentum and opening a new phase of effective and practical cooperation for the benefit of both countries.

Both sides expressed their delight that many Vietnamese business investment projects in Laos in the fields of energy, agriculture, telecommunications, and infrastructure are yielding practical results. The two countries are also coordinating the implementation of strategic infrastructure projects, including connecting transportation and energy infrastructure. This contributes to the sustainable development of economic and trade relations, linking them more closely with regional and international integration processes.
