During the reception at the party's central committee office today, General Secretary To Lam expressed his appreciation to the communist party of China's central committee and President Xi Jinping for sending Mr. Zhao Leji as a high-ranking representative to attend the 80th anniversary of the August revolution and Vietnam's national day, as well as sending a military contingent to participate in the parade, according to the ministry of foreign affairs.
Mr. Zhao Leji, a member of the standing committee of the political bureau of the communist party of China and chairman of the standing committee of the national people's congress, is on an official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of the communist party of Vietnam central committee and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
General Secretary To Lam expressed his hope that the legislative bodies of the two countries would promote higher-level integration between the two economies, prioritizing railway cooperation, promoting balanced and sustainable trade development, further opening markets to each other, and strengthening cooperation in science and technology, especially in key areas such as AI, semiconductors, nuclear energy, and 5G and 6G technologies.

General Secretary To Lam noted that amid profound global changes, Vietnam and China have maintained stability and development, and relations between the two parties and countries have achieved remarkable results, following the "six priorities" direction. He highlighted the increasingly substantive and profound relationship between the Vietnamese national assembly and the Chinese national people's congress.
The general secretary affirmed that Vietnam always considers developing relations with China as an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority in its overall foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, multilateralization, and its "four nos" defense policy.
Regarding the South China Sea issue, General Secretary To Lam suggested that the two sides continue to manage and resolve disagreements effectively, empathize with each other's perspectives, respect each other's legitimate interests, and maintain a peaceful and stable environment for both countries to focus on promoting a new era of development for both nations.

Mr. Zhao Leji affirmed that China attaches great importance to the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and the strategically significant community of shared future between China and Vietnam, always considering this a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy.
The Chinese top legislator also affirmed that China is ready to work with Vietnam to appropriately manage and resolve disagreements, maintain peace and stability at sea, and create a favorable environment for the development of each country.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man welcomed and held talks with Mr. Zhao Leji at the national assembly building this afternoon.

During his official visit to Vietnam from 31/8 to 2/9, the Chinese top legislator will attend the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August revolution and Vietnam's national day, and co-chair the first meeting of the cooperation committee between the Vietnamese national assembly and the Chinese national people's congress with National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
The Chinese delegation will participate in the parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's national day, alongside delegations from Russia, Cambodia, and Laos. 120 Chinese soldiers arrived in Vietnam on 29/8 to participate in the event at the invitation of the Vietnamese ministry of national defense.
