President Luong Cuong and his spouse arrived at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Seattle, Washington on the morning of 21/9. They were welcomed by Washington Lieutenant Governor Denny Heck, Washington Secretary of State Steve Hobbs, and Boeing executives.
Following the welcoming ceremony, President Luong Cuong met with Lieutenant Governor Denny Heck and Boeing Executive Vice President Stephanie Pope.

During his working visit from 21/9 to 24/9, President Luong Cuong and his spouse will attend the High-Level General Debate of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, combined with bilateral activities in the US.
The delegation accompanying the President includes: Party Central Committee Secretary and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung; Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son; Director of the Presidential Office Le Khanh Hai; Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien; Deputy Minister of National Defense Nguyen Truong Thang; Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Quoc Hung; Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung; and other leaders from various ministries and sectors.

The President's visit coincides with the 30th anniversary of US-Vietnam diplomatic relations and the second anniversary of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The US and Vietnam normalized relations on 12/7/1995 and elevated their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2023. Bilateral trade in 2024 reached nearly 150 billion USD, a 20.5% increase compared to the previous year. The US is currently Vietnam's second-largest trading partner and one of its most important export markets.
