Vietnam and Egypt established diplomatic relations on 1/9/1963. Egypt was the first North African country to recognize Vietnam as a full market economy and is Vietnam's largest trading partner in North Africa.
In 2024, two-way trade between Vietnam and Egypt reached 541.36 million USD. Regarding investment, Egypt has 22 registered investment projects in Vietnam with a total capital of 2.87 million USD.
Egypt annually provides Vietnam with 12 scholarships for Arabic language training. The Vietnamese community in Egypt consists of a few dozen families with about 100 people, living in cities across the country.
Vietnam and Angola established diplomatic relations on 12/11/1975. Vietnam was the second country in the world to establish diplomatic relations with Angola, just one day after the country declared independence.
Two-way trade between the two countries in 2024 reached nearly 250 million USD. Vietnam mainly exports rice, textiles, coffee, confectionery, and cereal products, and imports wood, wood products, and liquefied gas from Angola.
As of 12/2024, Angola had 4 investment projects in Vietnam with a total registered capital of over 118 million USD. Vietnam has 4 investment projects in Angola with a total registered investment capital of nearly 3 million USD.
Angola has the largest Vietnamese community in Africa. Currently, about 8,000 Vietnamese people are living and working in Angola, mostly concentrated in the capital Luanda and other major cities.
