"I don't think I've 'aired dirty laundry'. I've conveyed difficult messages, but I did it the best way I could. My conscience is clear," Harry said on 14/9/2025, defending his 2023 memoir, Spare.
Harry asserted that his memoir "wasn't aimed at revenge" but was his responsibility to speak out.
"I know that me speaking out affects some people. As for the book? It's my way of correcting existing narratives," Harry added.

Spare sold 400,000 copies in hardcover, e-book, and audiobook formats on its release day in 1/2023, becoming the fastest-selling non-fiction book in UK history.
In the memoir, Harry recounts many previously undisclosed stories about the royal family, even mentioning disagreements with family members. He revealed he was once hit by his brother during an argument about Meghan. William criticized Meghan as "difficult", "rude", "conceited, and aggressive", which angered Harry, who criticized William for repeating what the press had written about her.
After Spare was published, the already strained relationship between Harry and the British royal family became even more tense. Harry recently expressed his desire to reconcile with his father, King Charles III, worried about "how much longer he has to live". Harry met his father again this month after nearly two years of estrangement and disagreement, sparking speculation that the family rift might soon be healed.
