UK police are investigating a petrol bomb attack that occurred on 19/8 outside a wedding reception at the Royal Shalimar restaurant in Sparkbrook, Birmingham. The incident was announced on 21/8.
Security camera footage shows several individuals in black, positioned opposite the wedding venue, throwing suspected petrol bombs at cars parked outside. This ignited two supercars, a McLaren and a Ferrari. Small fires also started nearby. Restaurant staff quickly used extinguishers to control the blaze before firefighters arrived.

Three men dressed in black fled the scene in a white Volkswagen Golf.
Fahim Kayani, one of the 500 wedding guests present, heard commotion outside the gate while dining. "Everyone remained very calm, but things could have been much worse. It was a big wedding with many people inside," Kayani recalled.
A witness reported young people near the supercars during the incident. One person quickly kicked a petrol bomb away before it rolled under a car.
The identity and motive of the suspect group remain unknown.
A Royal Shalimar representative stated that guest safety is their top priority. The venue, with a capacity for over 1,000 guests, promotes Birmingham as a "cultural diversity hub" in the UK.
