The Thai Royal Household Bureau announced on 15/8 that Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol's lungs and kidneys are functioning with the aid of medical equipment and medication. "Since 9/8, the medical team discovered a severe blood infection, requiring the use of antibiotics and blood pressure support," the bureau stated.
Doctors continue to monitor the princess's condition. This is the first update from the Thai royal family on her health since 2023.
Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol, 46, is King Maha Vajiralongkorn's eldest daughter and his only child from his first marriage.

She collapsed during a military dog training session in Nakhon Ratchasima province, north of Bangkok, in December 2022, due to heart problems. The princess has been in a coma since then and has been hospitalized for over two years.
A lawyer with a master's and doctoral degree from Cornell University, USA, Princess Bajrakitiyabha served as the Thai ambassador to Austria, Slovenia, and Slovakia. She also held positions at the Office of the Attorney General, the Royal Security Command, and served as Thailand's ambassador to the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.
The princess was known to be close to her father and was appointed to a senior position in his guard a year before her hospitalization.
King Maha Vajiralongkorn, 73, has seven children from four marriages. He has not yet named a successor.
