Paetongtarn Shinawatra and Pintongta Shinawatra, daughters of Thaksin, visited their father at Klong Prem prison on 18/9. The former prime minister is serving a one-year sentence.
This was Paetongtarn's second visit since her father's imprisonment began. She expressed uncertainty about whether he was receiving adequate nutrition.
"He only mentioned he couldn't sleep last night. I'm not sure if it's due to back pain," Paetongtarn added.
Thaksin's daughters provided him with 15,000 baht (approximately 470 USD) for use in prison, with a daily spending limit of 500 baht. He can use these funds for extra snacks. They left after about 15 minutes due to his feeling unwell.
"My father's health wasn't good today, so we only visited briefly. He has high blood pressure and felt tired. Despite his short haircut, he's still experiencing hair loss, possibly due to stress. He still managed to smile. He mentioned insomnia but said his spirits are good," Paetongtarn told reporters outside the prison.

Pintongta, Thaksin's eldest daughter, brought letters from his grandchildren, written on behalf of all seven of them.
Kanokwan Jiewchuaphan, deputy spokesperson for the Thai Department of Corrections, said Thaksin will meet with a psychologist during routine health checkups for new inmates.
She added that Thaksin typically wakes up at 6 a.m. and goes to bed at 9:30 p.m. He spends his days reading, watching TV, walking, and doing light arm exercises.
Thaksin is serving a one-year sentence at Klong Prem prison in Bangkok, one of Thailand's most secure facilities. Earlier this week, he was transferred to the prison's medical treatment area "due to his age and chronic health conditions." His lawyer stated that Thaksin doesn't expect any special treatment in prison, such as enhanced security or a private room.
