Former President Donald Trump addressed the incident involving multiple drones entering Polish airspace, stating, "It could have just been a mistake, but I'm not happy with what's been going on in that whole situation, anyway. I hope it ends". He made this comment to reporters on 11/9, a day after the incident.
This was Trump's second public statement on the matter, following a cryptic post on Truth Social on 10/9. In that post, he asked, "What is going on with the Russian drones over Poland? Let's see."

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk reported on 10/9 that at least 19 Russian drones had crossed into Polish airspace, most originating from Belarus. Polish air defense and NATO units responded, shooting down at least 4 drones. The remaining drones appeared to have crashed after running out of fuel.
A NATO spokesperson confirmed this was the first time alliance aircraft were deployed against airborne targets over a member state.
This incident coincided with Russia's airstrikes on several locations in western Ukraine. The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed they were not targeting Poland and were open to consultations.
Since leaving office, Trump has made several attempts to achieve a ceasefire or peace agreement in the Ukraine conflict.
US lawmakers are pushing for additional sanctions against Russia, but Trump has not committed to supporting these measures. He previously warned that a "second phase" of sanctions could soon be implemented after sanctioning India for importing Russian oil.
