US President Donald Trump today warned that "Iran will be attacked very fiercely". "I am seriously considering the complete destruction of certain places and the killing of certain people due to Iran’s bad behavior. These targets have never been targeted", he wrote on social media.

He also seemed to refer to reports that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian apologized to Middle Eastern neighbors and promised that Tehran would not attack them again, asserting that "that promise was only made because the US and Israel attacked relentlessly".

"Iran is no longer a bully, but a loser in the Middle East. Iran will remain so for decades to come, until they surrender or, more likely, completely collapse", the US President declared.

Fox News reported the same day that the George H. W. Bush carrier strike group "is expected to deploy soon" to the eastern Mediterranean, though the exact departure date is unknown. If this occurs, it would be the third US carrier strike group deployed to the Middle East.

The US Navy stated on 5/3 that the USS George H. W. Bush, its associated air wing, and escort warships have "completed the integrated training required for all carrier strike groups before being certified for national-level missions".

Data released by the US Navy indicates that the USS Gerald R. Ford is present in the Red Sea, while the Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group is operating in the Arabian Sea and directly participating in the air campaign against Iran.

The Middle East has been engulfed in conflict since the US and Israel launched an air campaign against Iran on 28/2. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) retaliated by firing missiles and drones at Israel and US bases in Arab countries in the region.

The US announced on 5/3 that over 2,000 targets had been hit in Iran, while Israel stated it had launched over 4,000 bombs and guided missiles into enemy territory since 28/2. Iran reported on 6/3 that US and Israeli attacks had damaged over 3,600 civilian facilities.

The conflict has so far resulted in approximately 1,500 casualties on all sides.
