"10 days from today. After that, we will impose tariffs and other sanctions," US President Donald Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on 29/7, issuing a new ultimatum to Russia to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

This is the second ultimatum Trump has given Russia regarding the Ukraine conflict. On 14/7, he issued the first, giving Moscow 50 days to accept an agreement to end the conflict with Kyiv or face tariffs and sanctions on Russia and its trading partners.
However, two weeks later, the US president showed impatience when the third round of direct talks between Russia and Ukraine failed to yield substantial progress. On 28/7, Trump shortened the first ultimatum, stating that Russia had only 10-12 days left to address the issue.
The Kremlin later said Russia was committed to peace but confirmed that the operation in Ukraine had not stopped. Russia also noted that efforts to restore relations with the US had slowed following Trump's comments.
Trump said on 29/7 that he had received an official response from Russia. "President Vladimir Putin clearly wants to continue the war," he said.
The US president added that new sanctions against Russia could affect the international oil market or oil prices, but he was not concerned about that, pledging that the US would increase domestic oil production to offset any impact.
