White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced President Donald Trump's plan to build a ballroom at the White House during a press conference on 31/7. "For 150 years, presidents, administrations, and White House staff have wanted a larger event space within the White House complex," she said.
Leavitt revealed that Trump and unnamed donors will cover the entire $200 million budget. The ballroom will accommodate 650 people and is scheduled to begin construction in September, with completion expected before the end of Trump's term.

The project aims to create a formal venue for hosting large-scale events for international leaders visiting the US, replacing the current practice of erecting tents on the White House grounds.
Officials released a sketch of the ballroom, depicting a white building with large columns and a facade resembling the main White House building. The structure will replace the East Wing, currently the first lady's office.
Trump has long expressed his desire for a White House ballroom, inspired by his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. The estate also serves as a model for the White House renovations.
Since taking office, Trump has redecorated the Oval Office with new artwork and gilded statues. He also paved the Rose Garden, replacing the wet grass that often posed challenges for women in high heels. Additionally, he installed two large American flags outside the White House.
