On July 3, President Donald Trump shared an image of a $100 bill bearing his signature on Truth Social, offering no further comment. The image displays Trump's signature positioned above that of US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
The US Treasury Department has not yet responded to inquiries regarding whether this specific design is currently in production.

In March, Secretary Bessent announced that the US administration plans to feature President Trump's signature on banknotes to commemorate the 250th anniversary of national independence. This initiative marks a historic first, as it has never before been applied to a sitting president.
US Treasurer Brandon Beach stated, "President Trump's historical impact, as the architect of America's economic resurgence, is undeniable. Placing his signature on US currency is entirely fitting."
The US Treasury Department confirmed that the initial $100 bills featuring the signatures of President Trump and Secretary Bessent are slated for printing in June, with lower denominations to follow in subsequent months.
This marks a dual historical precedent: the first instance of a sitting US president's signature appearing on banknotes, and the first time the US Treasurer's signature will be omitted from the nation's currency since 1861, when the US federal government initially issued paper money.
The inclusion of President Trump's signature on currency is the latest in a series of initiatives aimed at associating his name with various public assets, including buildings, organizations, government programs, warships, and now, currency. Last month, President Trump unveiled a design for a commemorative passport celebrating the 250th anniversary of national independence, which prominently features his portrait behind the Resolute Desk in the White House.
