"What is happening with my boys and girls? They are all targeting Justice Department official Pam Bondi, who is doing a great job," former U.S. president Donald Trump wrote in a social media post on 12/7.
Trump emphasized that the MAGA base, his most ardent supporters, are "all on the same team."
"I don't like what's happening. We have a perfect administration, recognized by the whole world, but selfish people are trying to harm it, all because of the man named Jeffrey Epstein," he said, referring to the American financier who died by suicide in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

Trump defended Bondi, saying that the "Epstein case" is a Democratic hoax for political purposes, but did not specify their goals. "For years, the Epstein issue keeps coming back. Don't waste time and effort on Jeffrey Epstein, who nobody cares about," he said.
Trump urged Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel to focus on the "fraudulent and stolen 2020 election," in which Democratic candidate Joe Biden won and became the 46th president of the U.S. "Let Pam Bondi do her job. She's a wonderful person," he said.
Trump's comments came after Bondi and Patel faced criticism surrounding the Epstein case.
The U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said last week that there is no evidence that Epstein kept a "client list" or blackmailed powerful people. They also dismissed allegations that Epstein was murdered in prison, confirming that he died by suicide in a New York jail in 2019, and stated they would not release any further information about the investigation.

The move has been met with skepticism and criticism from some on the far right, including many of Trump's loyal supporters. Many in the MAGA base have long believed that information about Epstein's high-profile associates has been suppressed.
"Next, the Justice Department will say 'Jeffrey Epstein never actually existed.' This is disgusting," Alex Jones, a Trump supporter, posted after the Justice Department and FBI's statement last week.
Laura Loomer, an influential figure on the far right, called on Trump to fire Bondi, describing the Justice Department official as "a disgrace."
Trump, who once appeared with Epstein at a party, denied that he was named in the files or had any connection to the financier. "Those conspiracy theories are completely false and have never been true," the FBI director said on 12/7.
