Turkish Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) on 24/8 showing himself driving on a highway near Ankara, listening to folk music and speeches by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The video shows the speedometer on Uraloglu's car reaching between 190 and 225 km/h, while the speed limit on that stretch of road is 135 km/h. A few hours after posting the video, Uraloglu said he had been fined approximately 225 USD for speeding.
"I was driving to inspect the Ankara-Nigde highway and unintentionally exceeded the speed limit for a short period. I reported myself with that video," Uraloglu posted on X.
"Observing the speed limit is mandatory for everyone," the minister emphasized. "I will be much more careful from now on."
