The Ukrainian army did not disclose the location. However, military bloggers suggested the attack targeted a training ground in the Chernihiv region near the country's northern border.
The Ukrainian army announced it would investigate the incident. If officials' mistakes caused the soldier deaths or injuries, they would be held accountable.
Russia has not commented on the information.
Ukraine continues to implement enhanced security measures to protect its soldiers from Russian missile or air attacks on training centers.
On the night of 28/7, Ukraine also accused Russia of dropping 4 glide bombs on the Bilenkivska prison in the Kiev-controlled area of Zaporizhzhia province. The attack destroyed the dining hall and severely damaged the administrative center and the isolation ward.
According to Ukraine, the attack killed 25 civilians and injured more than 75 others. President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of deliberately targeting the prison. Moscow denied it.
"The Russian army does not attack civilian targets," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
