On 24/9, the Ukrainian army reported, "The adversary conducted a combined attack on the training ground of one of the training units. Among the weapons used were two Iskander-M ballistic missiles,".
The Ukrainian army confirmed that precautionary measures were in place, but acknowledged that one Iskander-M missile directly hit a shelter and "caused some casualties" among the soldiers. "Emergency response units are working at the scene, and the injured have received medical treatment", the army said, but did not disclose the exact location of the attack or specific damage.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has not commented on the information.
News sites linked to the Russian military say the target of the attack was a training ground near the Goncharovskoye residential area in Chernihiv province, northern Ukraine.
The last time the Goncharovskoye training ground was attacked was in late July when the Russian army launched a double attack with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles. Moscow then claimed the attack killed and injured about 200 Ukrainian soldiers, while Kyiv confirmed 3 soldiers were killed and 18 injured.
Russia has repeatedly attacked Ukrainian army training grounds, causing heavy casualties and equipment losses. In July, Ukrainian army commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrsky ordered a ban on the concentration of soldiers and equipment at training facilities, as well as requiring the construction of more shelters and the implementation of measures to protect soldiers' lives.
One of the most serious incidents occurred in early March when the Russian military launched Iskander-M ballistic missiles at the Novomoskovsky training ground in Dnipropetrovsk province, where soldiers of the 157th Ukrainian Mechanized Brigade were training. Moscow claimed the attack killed 150 soldiers, including about 30 foreign experts.
