US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported on 27/6 that a Panama-flagged oil tanker, carrying over 2 million barrels of crude oil, was attacked by an Iranian suicide unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) while transiting near the Strait of Hormuz.
In retaliation, CENTCOM launched airstrikes against multiple targets in Iran. This marks the second consecutive night of US military action against Iran since a ceasefire agreement was signed.
CENTCOM added that "US military aircraft targeted military surveillance infrastructure, communication systems, air defense sites, unmanned aerial vehicle storage facilities, and Iran's mine-laying capabilities," though specific locations of the attacks were not disclosed.
