During a regular press conference today, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said there are about 250 Vietnamese people in Nepal and no reports of citizens being affected by the ongoing protests.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises Vietnamese citizens in Nepal to "limit going out, avoid protest areas, especially in the capital and places with security risks".
Citizens should also regularly monitor updates on reputable local news sites and the embassy's website, strictly comply with regulations and guidelines on ensuring necessary safety and security, and maintain regular and close contact with the Vietnamese Embassy in India, which is also responsible for Nepal.
"Vietnamese citizens should carefully consider travel to Nepal unless it's essential. If citizen protection is needed, they can contact the embassy's and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' hotlines," Hang said.

Large-scale protests erupted in Nepal on 8/9, as tens of thousands of people took to the streets of Kathmandu to express their anger after the government blocked most social media platforms like Facebook, X, YouTube, and Instagram, claiming these companies had not registered and complied with government oversight.
Tensions escalated as the marches turned into protests against corruption in Nepal. Protesters attacked security forces, and police responded with live ammunition, making 8/9 one of the bloodiest days in Nepal's history, with 20 deaths and hundreds injured.
As protests spread, Nepalese officials became targets of extremist groups. Protesters proposed former Chief Justice Sushila Karki as the country's interim prime minister to resolve the political crisis.
Vietnamese citizens requiring emergency assistance are advised to contact the citizen protection hotlines of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy in India, which is also responsible for Nepal:
