The hai leaders affirmed the importance of defense and security cooperation, especially given regional challenges. They agreed to share experience and expand cooperation in combating organized crime, including drug smuggling, human trafficking, illegal migration, terrorism, cybercrime, and money laundering.

The hai sides will increase cooperation in other important areas such as education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges. This collaboration aims to strengthen cohesion and mutual understanding, comprehensively promoting bilateral relations.

The hai sides issued a Joint Statement on the outcomes of the visit and signed ba cooperation documents in marine cooperation, fisheries, and combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

The Sultan of Brunei paid a state visit to Vietnam from 30/11-2/12 at the invitation of President Luong Cuong. The hai countries established diplomatic relations on 29/2/1992 and upgraded to a Comprehensive Partnership in 3/2019. Brunei currently ranks 28th among countries investing in Vietnam, with 153 active projects.
