During talks with President Luong Cuong today, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam outlined Brunei's future development directions, focusing on artificial intelligence, green economy, and circular economy. The Sultan affirmed Brunei values and wishes to further develop the Comprehensive Partnership between the hai countries across various sectors, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

President Luong Cuong and Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah affirmed that economic relations between the hai countries hold significant potential. They agreed to work towards doubling bilateral trade turnover as soon as possible.
Vietnam encourages Brunei investors to participate in projects such as the construction of international financial centers, infrastructure, energy, tourism, and services in Vietnam.
Brunei agreed to share its experience with Vietnam in the Halal sector, consider mutual recognition of Halal certificates, and develop Halal food and product manufacturing projects in Vietnam.
Brunei will continue to facilitate Vietnamese companies in providing oil and gas services and participating in oil and gas exploration activities in its waters. It also encourages Brunei corporations to invest in oil and gas exploration and exploitation in Vietnam.
The hai leaders affirmed the importance of defense and security cooperation, especially given regional challenges. They agreed to share experience and expand cooperation in combating organized crime, including drug smuggling, human trafficking, illegal migration, terrorism, cybercrime, and money laundering.
The hai sides will increase cooperation in other important areas such as education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges. This collaboration aims to strengthen cohesion and mutual understanding, comprehensively promoting bilateral relations.
The hai sides issued a Joint Statement on the outcomes of the visit and signed ba cooperation documents in marine cooperation, fisheries, and combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
The Sultan of Brunei paid a state visit to Vietnam from 30/11-2/12 at the invitation of President Luong Cuong. The hai countries established diplomatic relations on 29/2/1992 and upgraded to a Comprehensive Partnership in 3/2019. Brunei currently ranks 28th among countries investing in Vietnam, with 153 active projects.
