Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on 20/6 that the country has deployed new, modernized long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with enhanced capabilities. He claimed these UAVs can now reach targets up to 3,000 km away. Zelensky emphasized this represents a legitimate response to Russia's attacks on Ukraine, adding that the country's long-range operational plan is currently being implemented.

Zelensky specifically thanked Ukraine's special operations forces for a UAV strike on Russia's Tyumen region. This attack targeted an oil facility located more than 2,000 km from the Ukrainian border. While calling it an "effective operation", the Ukrainian president did not disclose the exact timing of the strike.
Alexander Moor, governor of the Tyumen region, confirmed on 20/6 that an oil refinery in Western Siberia had been attacked by UAVs. Moor stated on Telegram: "The attack was repelled. Emergency services are responding at the scene to fallen debris. According to preliminary information, the refinery was not damaged and personnel have been evacuated".

For several months, the Ukrainian military has conducted a campaign of medium- and long-range UAV attacks against targets on Russian territory, primarily focusing on the oil industry. The Tyumen oil refinery, situated in Western Siberia, is one of Russia's most modern and complex facilities. It boasts a design capacity of approximately 8 million tons per year, processing about 6 million tons of crude oil annually to produce around 0,5 million tons of gasoline and 2,5 million tons of diesel fuel.
