Geely Group has announced an ambitious strategic roadmap to 2030, aiming to become one of the top 5 global automakers. The plan, revealed by CEO An Conghui on 22/1, outlines significant growth targets across various segments.
Specific strategic goals for 2030 include achieving global sales exceeding 6,5 million vehicles, with new energy vehicles (NEVs) accounting for approximately 75% of total sales. The company also aims for overseas sales to surpass 33% of its total volume and global revenue to exceed 1,000 billion yuan (143 billion USD).
Geely's strong performance in 2025 underpins these ambitious targets. The group achieved record sales of 4,116,321 vehicles, a 26% increase from 2024, marking its 5th consecutive year of growth. NEV sales were a significant driver, rising to 2,293,099 units in 2025, a 58% increase compared to 2024. This pushed the group's NEV penetration rate to 56%.

Key sub-brands contributed substantially to Geely's overall results in 2025. Galaxy, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr collectively sold over 3 million vehicles, a 39% increase from the same period in 2024. NEV sales for these brands reached nearly 1,7 million units, marking a 90% rise.
Other brands within the Geely ecosystem also reported growth: Volvo contributed 710,042 vehicles, with electric vehicle sales reaching 323,294 units and an EV market penetration rate of 46%. Proton recorded sales of 162,601 vehicles, a 6,5% increase from 2024. Polestar delivered over 60,000 vehicles, achieving growth of over 30%, while Lotus reported a 30% increase in sales. Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle sold 162,019 units in 2025, bringing its cumulative sales to over 500,000 vehicles.
These ambitious targets would position Geely among global competitors like Hyundai and Stellantis. Geely stated that sales across all its brands exceeded 4 million vehicles annually by 2025, placing the company in 7th position globally, having surpassed Volkswagen in China during the same year.
Geely is part of a broader trend of Chinese automakers setting ambitious global targets, particularly in rapidly developing markets such as Southeast Asia and Latin America. This competitive landscape also includes newer players like Leapmotor, a 10-year-old company, which announced in 12/2025 its goal to become one of the top 10 global automakers in the next decade with annual sales of 4 million units.
