In late August, many dealerships in Ha Noi and TP HCM priced the MG ZS STD variant at 378 million VND and the LUX variant at 438 million VND. These prices represent reductions of 140 million VND and 150 million VND, respectively, compared to the listed prices. Actual pricing may vary between dealerships based on their specific sales policies.

This promotion is a joint effort between MG Vietnam and its dealerships, designed to boost sales of the B-segment CUV. MG Vietnam currently offers incentives of 85 million VND and 96 million VND for the lower and higher variants, respectively.

With the standard variant priced under 400 million VND after incentives, the MG ZS is now more affordable than automatic A-segment hatchbacks like the Kia Morning (439-469 million VND) and the Hyundai i10 (405-455 million VND).

The ZS's post-promotion price is its lowest since its launch in 2020, positioning it among the most affordable in its segment. Competitors of the MG ZS are also offering significant discounts; for instance, the Mitsubishi Xforce has promotions ranging from 60-72 million VND, and the Toyota Yaris Cross offers a 50 million VND incentive.

MG and its dealerships are offering substantial discounts on the ZS to clear inventory for the new generation, expected to launch in the coming months. The ZS is MG's best-selling model in Vietnam.

The current generation of the ZS is imported from Thailand and priced between 518-588 million VND. It features a 1.5-liter engine producing 112 horsepower and 150 Nm of peak torque. For the upcoming new generation in Vietnam, MG plans to introduce a self-charging hybrid variant.

In Malaysia, the first Southeast Asian market to launch the new ZS generation, the hybrid variant combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor, achieving a total output of 212 horsepower and 465 Nm of torque. Compared to the pure internal combustion engine version currently sold in Vietnam, which offers 112 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque, the hybrid variant shows a significant improvement in performance.

According to data from Malaysia, the new ZS hybrid variant has a fuel consumption of approximately 4,7 liters/100 km on a combined cycle. The older, pure gasoline ZS version sold in Vietnam consumes 6,3-6,59 liters/100 km on a combined cycle. This indicates that the hybrid variant is about 25-29% more fuel-efficient than its pure gasoline counterpart.
