Two years after its concept was unveiled, Skoda has launched the first production version of the Epiq for the European market. This vehicle is considered a strategic product for the company, aiming to democratize electric vehicles and directly compete with the influx of affordable electric vehicles from Trung Quoc.
The Epiq is the first model from the Czech Republic automaker to adopt the new "modern solid" design language. The car features a sharp, angular exterior with distinct, squared-off lines. It measures 4,171 x 1,798 x 1,581 mm (length x width x height). These dimensions are comparable to A-segment crossovers like the Kia Sonet, which measures 4,120 x 1,790 x 1,642 mm.

An umbrella storage compartment is hidden in the door panel - a feature typically found only on Rolls-Royce cars.
A prominent feature on the grille is the headlight cluster and T-shaped daytime running lights, combined with a glossy black faux grille. Despite being an electric vehicle focused on aerodynamics, Skoda has retained traditional door handles instead of flush ones. According to the announcement, the Epiq achieves a drag coefficient of 0,275 thanks to active air vents and air-optimized wheel designs, with optional 17 or 19 inch wheels. Notably, Skoda has designed a hidden umbrella compartment in the door panel, a detail usually seen on Rolls-Royce vehicles.
The Epiq's interior maintains Skoda's characteristic design, inherited from its larger siblings, the Enyaq and Elroq. The dashboard features a 13 inch infotainment touchscreen and a sporty two-spoke steering wheel. A key highlight is the integration of screen technology with streamlined physical buttons placed below the air vents, simplifying access to important functions.
The new Epiq is built on the Volkswagen Group's MEB+ electric platform. Depending on the market, the Epiq is available in three versions: 30, 40, and 55. The two standard versions, 30 and 40, use a 37 kWh LFP battery, paired with an electric motor producing 114 horsepower or 133 horsepower, offering a range of approximately 306 km. The difference between these two standard versions is that the Epiq 30's DC fast charging speed is limited to 50 kW, while the 40 version increases to 90 kW.

The top-tier 55 version uses a 52 kWh NMC battery with a range of 438 km, supporting a maximum DC charge of 105 kW, allowing for a 10-80% charge in 25 minutes. The Epiq 55 is equipped with a front-axle electric motor, delivering 208 horsepower.
The Skoda Epiq will first be sold in the European market, with prices starting from 30,000 USD for the Essence 35 version, matching the price of the internal combustion engine Kamiq in the same segment.
