Vespa 946 horse: A special edition for the year of the Binh Ngo 2026

This premium scooter, inspired by the lunar calendar, will have a limited production of 888 units worldwide, available from early 2026.

Vespa, the Italian moped brand under the Piaggio Group, has unveiled the 946 Horse 2026. This special edition is dedicated to the Year of the Horse, as observed in many Asian countries, including Vietnam. The 946 Horse 2026 will be produced in a limited run of 888 units globally.

According to the manufacturer, following the 946 Snake for the Year of the Snake, the Italian brand continues its tradition with the 946 Horse for the Year of the Horse. The 946 Horse 2026 draws inspiration from the Binh Ngo lunar year, celebrating the free spirit of the horse: intelligent, innately elegant, and driven by a desire for exploration.

A gilded horseshoe emblem is located under the saddle.

The brake calipers are gilded.

The scooter features LED lighting and hand-stitched leather grips. Its exterior is painted a metallic brown.

A distinctive feature of the 946 Binh Ngo edition is the gilded horseshoe emblem and the letter "V" (for Vespa) positioned beneath the saddle. Gilded brake calipers further enhance its unique identity.

The 946 Horse boasts a special metallic brown finish. Its design incorporates leather and golden accents. Leather appears on the hand grips, adorned with diamond-pattern stitching. The leather-wrapped saddle, combined with yellow stitching, creates a distinct look.

Standard features include a digital dashboard and LED lighting. It also comes with two-tone multi-spoke cast wheels. The 946 utilizes a steel monocoque frame complemented by aluminum components, such as the wheels, handlebars, side panels, front mudguard, mirror supports, and saddle support. The front suspension system consists of a single-sided swingarm with a coil spring and a single shock absorber. The rear features a single hydraulic shock absorber with 5-level preload adjustment.

Vespa has not specified the engine for the 946 Horse. However, its predecessor, the 946 Snake, was powered by a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 3-valve, 155 cc engine, air-cooled and equipped with electronic fuel injection.

The 946 Horse 2026 is the fourth special edition developed specifically for a lunar year. Previous editions include the 946 Snake 2025 (Year of the Snake), limited to 888 units. This was preceded by the 2024 Dragon edition, limited to 1,888 units, and the 2023 Rabbit edition, limited to 1,000 units.

The Italian moped manufacturer has not yet announced the price for the 946 Horse 2026.

In Vietnam, the 946 Snake 2025 edition was priced at 460 million VND, the 946 Dragon 2024 edition at 455 million VND, and the 946 Rabbit 2023 edition at 425 million VND.
