The accident occurred on 20/3 on the Jinshajiang railway-highway bridge in Yibin, Sichuan province. According to witnesses, a motorcycle, taking a turn at high speed, swerved right and collided with a group of elderly pedestrians near the bridge railing.

The crash resulted in one pedestrian fatality. The motorcyclist and five other pedestrians sustained injuries of varying degrees. Police investigations revealed the driver had a blood alcohol concentration of 68 mg/100 ml, more than three times the legal limit of 20 mg/100 ml.
Authorities have detained the driver. Police also noted that pedestrians are prohibited from crossing the bridge.
