The Limo Green primarily serves service operations for individual and corporate customers. While this VinFast model is not the first mainstream, all-electric 7-seater MPV—with previous options including the BYD M6 and Haima 7X-E—its success stems from key factors. Low operating costs, an extensive charging station network, and substantial sales driven by transport businesses have enabled the Limo Green to achieve record-breaking sales figures.
Over the final five months of 2025, VinFast Limo Green sold 27,127 units. This figure significantly surpasses all other MPV models in the segment, spanning from compact to mid-size and large vehicles.
Historically, the domestic automotive industry's MPV segment has witnessed three sales phenomena over the past 30 years, each corresponding to a different sub-segment. These include the Mitsubishi Xpander in the compact group, the Toyota Innova in the mid-size group, and the Kia Carnival in the mid-to-large group. However, none of these three internal combustion engine models have ever achieved the sales volume seen by the Limo Green in a single year.
The Xpander reached its sales peak in 2022 with nearly 22,000 units. The Innova recorded its highest sales year in 2008 with nearly 15,000 units. The Carnival (formerly Sedona) was most popular in 2022, selling over 9,000 units. Therefore, the VinFast Limo Green's sales of over 27,000 units represent a remarkable phenomenon in the segment.

The Limo Green is positioned in the mid-size MPV segment. Priced at 749 million VND, the VinFast product is more affordable than its gasoline-powered and all-electric rivals. A more premium version of the Limo Green, the VF MPV 7, launched in 2026 for 819 million VND. This model features a refined design and more features tailored for family customers.
With the introduction of the VF MPV 7, VinFast is poised to expand its overall influence in the MPV segment. This also puts pressure on its all-electric segment rivals, given VinFast's extensive charging station network and a free charging policy extending until mid-2027.
Gasoline-powered models face considerable challenges as well. VinFast models, and electric vehicles in general, benefit from a 0% registration fee, resulting in significantly lower on-road costs. The primary limitation of the Limo Green, VF MPV 7, and electric vehicles overall, is flexibility due to longer charging times and the inconsistent availability of charging stations.
Alongside VinFast's dominant market share of 31.7%, Mitsubishi and Toyota continue their two-horse race in the internal combustion engine MPV category. The Xpander helps Mitsubishi lead this group with approximately 23.2% market share. Toyota holds 21.2% market share through its five models: Avanza, Veloz, Innova, Innova Cross, and Alphard.
From 2026, Toyota will no longer distribute the Innova. The lower-priced 2.0G version of the Innova Cross will take over the role of Toyota's former MPV sales icon.
For Mitsubishi, the Xpander remains a pillar in the compact MPV segment race, which shows signs of slowing. Demand in 2025 reached 43,601 units, a slight 4% decrease compared to 45,467 units in 2024.
The Carnival continues to be a cash cow for Kia, alongside the Seltos and Sonet. The Carnival contributes approximately 17.4% to the Korean brand's overall sales.
Other manufacturers in the MPV segment, such as Honda, Hyundai, and Suzuki, have a limited competitive presence. The same applies to Chinese manufacturers (which do not disclose sales figures) including BYD, MG, Haima, and GAC.
