Aeon Vietnam is embarking on a significant recruitment drive, aiming to hire over 3,000 new employees in 2026. This initiative is crucial for realizing the company's ambitious goal of tripling its current scale by 2030. A representative from Aeon Vietnam stated that this expansion is driven by the robust growth projected for Vietnam's retail market, which is expected to stimulate consumption and increase labor demand in the sector.
Vietnam's retail market development strategy through 2030 targets an average annual growth of approximately 11-11.5% in total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue during the 2025-2030 period. Additionally, the country's GDP per capita is anticipated to exceed the 5,000 USD mark by 2026. Aeon Vietnam noted that these figures reflect improvements in income and living standards, which are expected to boost purchasing power. This, in turn, creates higher demands for skilled human resources in the retail sector, an industry characterized by a large workforce and rapid expansion.
According to the Anphabe 2025 report, competition for human resources in the retail sector extends beyond salary and benefits. It also focuses on sustainable values such as work-life balance, career stability, and long-term development opportunities for employees.
