Under the agreement, Buffaload will transport dry goods from Co-op’s National Distribution Centre (NDC) in Coventry to 11 regional distribution centers across the United Kingdom. From these centers, goods will be forwarded to local Co-op stores.
This new contract reinforces the two parties' shared commitment to reducing carbon emissions. Buffaload has made substantial investments in its fleet of liquefied natural gas (LNG) vehicles and is committed to transitioning to bio-LNG, a fuel produced locally from food and agricultural waste. This shift significantly reduces emissions from transport vehicles.

Stuart Rendall, Head of Logistics Operations at Co-op, stated that renewing the partnership with Buffaload helps achieve the goal of building an efficient, flexible logistics network to serve communities nationwide.
John Kerrigan, CEO of Buffaload, noted that the new agreement reflects the depth and strength of the long-standing relationship between the two businesses.
"We are delighted to continue our partnership with Co-op, adding dry goods logistics services alongside the temperature-controlled transport system that is already operating efficiently," he said.
According to Kerrigan, the collaboration between the two companies extends beyond logistics to include joint initiatives such as charity work with Barnardo's and supporting Co-op suppliers in implementing carbon emission reduction solutions.
Buffaload is a logistics and transport company based in Cambridgeshire, England. It specializes in temperature-controlled and dry goods transport services, with a strong focus on sustainable development and reducing carbon emissions throughout the supply chain.
