This scalable robotic solution aims to modernize intralogistics and boost warehouse automation at the Luterbach logistics center in Northwest Switzerland. The system helps Dosenbach-Ochsner, a member of the German Deichmann Group, meet sudden demand surges from nearly 380 stores across Switzerland while also expanding its e-commerce operations.

The Skypod system was chosen for its high flexibility, allowing it to efficiently handle peak periods. This project was implemented with support from Miebach Consulting Switzerland. According to Exotec, over 100 Skypod robots are now operational, supplying goods to picking and packing stations from approximately 174,000 storage locations. The system is reportedly exceeding initial performance expectations.
Gregor Oberfranz, Head of Logistics at Dosenbach-Ochsner AG, stated that e-commerce presents entirely different demands compared to the traditional retail model, especially when dealing with sudden, short-term spikes in demand. "With Exotec, we are fully capable of meeting that challenge," he said.
