With ASEAN's population nearing 700 million and a 2024 GDP of 3,970 billion USD, this dual recognition highlights EVNHCMC's competitiveness, innovation, and standing in the energy sector, a company representative said. Guided by its "Digital Enterprise, Digital Services" strategy, the company has implemented numerous comprehensive digital transformation solutions.
All electricity services are available online via the company's website, the national public service portal, the Ho Chi Minh City public service portal, and the EVNHCMC app. The company has fully implemented electronic services with OTP and digital signatures. Over 80% of customer requests are now processed automatically using artificial intelligence (chatbot, callbot, etc.).
These improvements have reduced wait times and provided faster responses. EVNHCMC is also the first in the industry to fully replace all meters with electronic versions capable of remote data collection, allowing customers to easily monitor their daily electricity consumption via a mobile app.
According to EVNHCMC, nearly 100% of customers now make cashless payments. The company also utilizes leading global technologies in the power sector: new materials, real-time equipment monitoring, specialized electrical construction and repair equipment, and improved tools for field workers.

The company has researched and tested prototypes of mobile generators and mobile UPS power supply systems. It is also promoting the application of IT and digital technology in grid management and operation.
Thanks to these efforts, EVNHCMC became the first company in Vietnam to be certified as a digital enterprise by the Ministry of Information and Communications at the end of 2022, a company representative said. By 2024, the company had reached level 4 out of 5 on the digital transformation scale.
EVNHCMC's digital transformation and smart grid development achievements have garnered both domestic and international recognition. In 2023, the company won the Smart Grid Project of the Year award at the ENLIT ASIA 2023 international conference. In 2024, Power Magazine (USA) awarded EVNHCMC the Smart Grid Award for its Distribution Automation System (DAS) project.
EVNHCMC also won at ENLIT ASIA 2024 with its "Outage Management Map" project. Also in 2024, the company's Smart Grid Index (SGI) reached 80.4 out of 100, ranking 41st among 92 power companies with smart grids worldwide. This puts EVNHCMC on par with major power corporations such as Western Power (Australia), Dominion Energy (USA), BC Hydro and Hydro Ottawa (Canada), TNB (Malaysia), and Westnetz (Germany).
Notably, EVNHCMC was one of two Vietnamese companies to receive the ASEAN Innovative Enterprise Award at the Asia IoT Business Platform (AIBP) for its "Smart Grid Development" project.
General Director Nguyen Van Thanh was honored for his strategic vision and leadership in guiding over 8,400 employees. Mr. Thanh has led the company's journey of power sector modernization, clean energy development, and smart customer service.
According to an EVNHCMC representative, this recognition acknowledges the company's strategic direction and leadership in its comprehensive innovation efforts. The ASEAN Award 2025 affirms the company's prestige and capabilities.
"The award also motivates our leaders and employees to continue striving for innovation, enhance management and service efficiency, and contribute to the prosperity and sustainable development of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and the ASEAN community," the representative said.
