Before becoming a leading multi-brand automotive group in China, FAW (First Automobile Works) began as a truck factory established in 1953, marking a milestone in the country's automotive history.

One of the company's first important brands was the Jiefang (Liberation) truck line, a transport vehicle symbolic of economic reconstruction and development. Today, FAW's Hongqi (Red Flag) luxury car line is a top choice for Chinese leaders and frequently appears at important events.
FAW's transformation stems from its open-door strategy. Instead of solely focusing on in-house production, FAW collaborates with leading global automotive brands such as Volkswagen, Toyota, Audi, and Mazda. Through these joint ventures, FAW has acquired advanced manufacturing technologies, modern management processes, and accumulated valuable experience.

In China, FAW has built a multi-brand ecosystem with Hongqi in the luxury segment, Jiefang maintaining its position in the commercial vehicle sector, and Bestune targeting the mass market. This allows FAW to adapt flexibly to market trends and ensure sustainable growth. To stay ahead of the curve, FAW is innovating and investing in advanced technologies in the era of vehicle electrification, developing electric vehicle (EV), autonomous driving, and smart car technologies.
