In July, FPT Corporation's FPT AI eKYC electronic identification solution was certified by FIME as compliant with Level 2 of the ISO/IEC 30107-3 standard. FPT AI eKYC passed FIME's rigorous testing. FIME is a world-leading biometric anti-spoofing testing organization. According to FPT Corporation, this standard confirms the solution's ability to resist Presentation Attacks against facial recognition systems.

FIME is recognized by the FIDO Alliance and is listed by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for biometric testing. The organization collaborates with major players in the payment and authentication industry, such as Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and JCB, to conduct Presentation Attack Detection assessments for ISO/IEC 30107-3. This certification is widely applied globally to evaluate the effectiveness of detecting and preventing biometric spoofing methods like printed photos, videos, and masks.
To achieve this standard, FPT AI eKYC passed at least 400 Presentation Attack tests designed by international experts. These tests used various sophisticated spoofing methods, including printed photos, silicon masks, and 3D-printed models, to try and deceive the facial authentication system. According to FPT, FIME conducted the solution testing from 7/7 to 15/7, integrating liveness detection technology under diverse testing conditions such as varying camera angles and lighting.
"Throughout this process, the system was not allowed any algorithm adjustments or parameter interventions to optimize the results", an FPT Corporation representative said. "After the test, FPT AI eKYC achieved an Attack Presentation Classification Error Rate (APCER) of 0.75%, while the ISO/IEC 30107-3 standard requires an APCER below 2.5%. At the same time, the successful facial recognition rate for real faces reached over 98%".
Ngo Xuan Bach, Director of the AI Technology Division of FPT Smart Cloud, a subsidiary of FPT Corporation, said that achieving FIME certification is a major step forward, affirming that Vietnamese AI is catching up to the global playing field with stringent standards. "The recognition from reputable international organizations like FIME helps FPT.AI expand its market to many places around the world, meeting the increasingly high requirements for data security and user authentication", he said.
