The "OCB Pin Hunter" campaign, a significant environmental initiative, is now expanding its reach after a successful first phase. From 3/2025 to 6/2025, phase 1 engaged nearly 10,000 participants across the country, collecting nearly 5,000 kg of used batteries. These were processed safely and responsibly. The campaign also generated considerable public engagement, with over 11 million reaches, 5 million views, and more than 80,000 interactions on various media platforms. To encourage participation, OCB distributed over 8,300 green gifts, promoting eco-friendly actions.
For this second phase, "OCB Pin Hunter" will be implemented at all OCB branches and transaction offices nationwide. The campaign is also extending its collection network to include about 30 external locations, such as schools, hospitals, apartment buildings, and shopping centers. This expansion aims to provide more convenient access points for the community to participate.

Customers can bring various types of used batteries, including AA, AAA, C, and D, directly to any designated collection point. After collection, OCB transfers all batteries to specialized, authorized units for proper processing. This ensures that negative impacts on the environment and ecosystems are minimized.
At the processing facility, batteries undergo sorting and pre-treatment before being destroyed in a modern technological system operating at temperatures between 650 and 1,232 degrees Celsius. This process ensures the complete destruction of hazardous compounds. A key environmental benefit is that the resulting slag is not discarded but repurposed as raw material for cement production, preventing environmental pollution.
Beyond environmental protection, the program offers participants the chance to receive gifts through the "collect old batteries - exchange for green gifts" activity. By contributing a minimum of 20 used batteries, participants can choose from various gifts, including canvas bags, bamboo straws, recycled notebooks, premium digital accounts, or seed pencils. Each participant is eligible to receive a maximum of two gifts throughout the campaign.

OCB leaders emphasize that batteries contain toxic chemicals, and improper disposal can harm soil, water, and human health. Through the Pin Hunter campaign, the bank seeks to encourage the community to adopt environmentally friendly habits in their daily lives, starting with small actions.
"OCB Pin Hunter" is a key initiative within the bank's sustainable development strategy. This campaign runs concurrently with green credit programs, which support renewable energy projects, green buildings, high-tech agriculture, and various social welfare activities. With the message "old batteries turn green - Earth becomes healthier", OCB anticipates continued active community participation in phase 2 of the program.
