Pham Nhat Vuong’s wife acquires nearly 5% additional capital in LPBank

Pham Thu Huong, wife of billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong, recently purchased 148.3 million LPB shares, representing 4.97% of LPBank’s capital.

LPBank announced on 27/7 that Pham Thu Huong has become a significant individual shareholder, acquiring 4.96% of the bank's capital. Vingroup confirmed that she is Pham Nhat Vuong's wife and serves as the group's Vice Chairwoman. Her acquisition of LPB shares is for personal investment.

As of the close of trading on 25/7, LPB shares were priced at 53,400 VND per unit. This values Pham Thu Huong's stake at approximately 8 trillion VND.

This investment follows an earlier move on 23/6, when Pham Nhat Vuong purchased 146.2 million LPB shares, representing 4.89%. Data from Vietcap Securities indicates that Vietnam’s wealthiest individual spent about 6.7 trillion VND for these shares, at a price of 46,000 VND per unit. Over one month later, the Vingroup Chairman has seen a gain of approximately 1 trillion VND from this transaction.

With these acquisitions, Pham Nhat Vuong and his wife now jointly own about 9.85% of LPBank’s capital.

Beyond the Pham Nhat Vuong family, LPBank has only one other shareholder holding over one percent of its capital: Vietnam Post Corporation (VNPost). This entity holds a 6.53% stake.

Born in 1969, Pham Thu Huong holds a Master’s degree in International Law from Ukraine. She directly owns over 341 million VIC shares, equivalent to about 4.4% of the group’s capital. The businesswoman also serves as Chairwoman of Green SM, a ride-hailing company founded by billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong.

Forbes estimates the Vingroup Vice Chairwoman’s net worth at 3.7 billion USD today. Forbes recognized Pham Thu Huong as a billionaire in February this year.

LPBank, formerly known as Lien Viet Post Bank, was renamed Loc Phat Bank in mid-7/2025. By the end of last year, the bank’s total assets reached 605.585 trillion VND, with a projected increase of 1.6% this year. Nguyen Duc Thuy, former Vice Chairman of Sacombank, served as LPBank’s Chairman from 2022-2025.
