While many businesses pursue a "free-for-data" model, Vietnamese tech startup SOC has chosen a different path. It avoids exploiting user behavior and grants data ownership directly to the user.
The startup offers SOC Connect, a secure communication solution that allows businesses to deploy chat, voice call, video, and online meeting platforms. All exchanged data is end-to-end encrypted and stored on infrastructure controlled by the business, helping to protect information and prevent unauthorized exploitation.

SOC also provides SOC BSky, a decentralized social network solution, enabling businesses to implement their own social networks with functions similar to X or Threads. "SOC BSky helps businesses avoid reliance on third-party platforms, is ad-free, and all data is managed by the business itself," a SOC representative stated.
In the digital content sector, this tech startup introduces SOC Vion, a solution for building "purpose-built" video social networks. It focuses on short videos and livestreams for specific content niches. "Ung Dung Phap Luat Video" is a platform implemented using the SOC Vion solution, offering news via video and live field reporting. It integrates AI for legal Q&A, supports article writing, and provides AI-read news, a startup representative shared.

For digital finance, the SOC Wallet solution assists businesses in developing multi-chain cryptocurrency wallets. It focuses on security and convenience, offering encrypted wallet backups to iCloud and Google Drive, and supporting wallet transfers between Android and iOS. "SOC chose a more challenging path, stemming from a long-term belief that users and organizations will prioritize platforms that respect privacy and data sovereignty," said Nguyen Duc Tinh, CEO of SOC. "This philosophy aligns with the name Strength Of Connection, the core foundation for SOC's solutions to exist and thrive."
According to Nguyen Duc Tinh, most SOC solutions are not designed for a single business to bear all infrastructure and operational costs. SOC Connect is engineered as a solution where each business can operate its own server, self-store, and protect internal data, yet still connect securely with other businesses, even interoperating with platforms like Telegram or Messenger.

Nguyen Duc Tinh believes that SOC alone cannot compete with major tech corporations. However, when hundreds or thousands of businesses collectively choose a data-respecting model and connect with each other, the balance could shift. He emphasized that SOC's role is solely to provide technology solutions, while the data belongs to the businesses using them.
"Regardless of how many organizations participate, SOC does not aim to become a Big Tech by collecting and exploiting user data like current large platforms," he said.
