During his state visit to South Korea, General Secretary To Lam met with leaders of top South Korean corporations on the afternoon of 12/8.
At the meeting, South Korean business representatives shared a new cooperative model focused on enhancing technology transfer, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises within the supply chain, and training highly skilled personnel in semiconductors, AI, and blockchain technology.
They also expressed interest in collaborating on the development of strategic infrastructure, including liquefied natural gas (LNG), high-speed rail, and new energy. They also discussed promoting the application of biotechnology in green production, the circular economy, and emissions reduction.
Representatives from Posco, Samsung Electronics, LG Display, and Lotte shared their investment cooperation results and future investment and business plans in industry, energy, services, and infrastructure in Vietnam. South Korean business leaders committed to advancing projects in energy, nuclear power, and commercial centers.

General Secretary To Lam commended the sincere cooperation, strategic vision, and strong belief in the prospects for developing Vietnam-South Korea relations demonstrated by South Korean businesses.
Vietnam is facing a significant development opportunity, implementing policies to streamline the government apparatus, reduce administrative procedures, address institutional obstacles, and create a favorable business environment for citizens and businesses. Simultaneously, strategic infrastructure investments are being prioritized in areas such as transportation, energy, finance, banking, and the digital financial market.
The General Secretary encouraged South Korean businesses to continue investing and expanding their market presence in Vietnam. He affirmed that Vietnam is ready to serve as a crucial gateway for South Korean businesses to access the Southeast Asian market. He also welcomed corporations with experience and advanced technology to participate more deeply in Vietnam's energy transition and national infrastructure modernization.
Vietnam consistently supports and collaborates with South Korean businesses, fostering trust, overcoming challenges, sharing development achievements, and together creating a new era of Vietnam-South Korea cooperation.
South Korea and Vietnam established diplomatic relations in 1992. The two countries are currently major trading partners, with a bilateral trade target of 150 billion USD, aiming for a balanced exchange by 2030.
