The order includes 24 A321neo and 20 A321XLR aircraft, with deliveries expected to begin in July. This agreement, announced at the Singapore Airshow 2026 on 4/2 in Singapore, boosts the total number of GTF-powered aircraft in Vietjet's fleet to 137. Pratt & Whitney will also provide maintenance services under its EngineWise Comprehensive program for a duration of 12 years.

Nguyen Thanh Son, Vietjet's chief executive officer, emphasized the value of the partnership. He noted, "GTF engines are crucial in enhancing Vietjet's operational performance and fuel economy, helping to reduce fuel consumption by approximately 20% compared to the previous generation."
Vietjet took delivery of its first A321neo aircraft in 2018 and currently operates 42 aircraft equipped with GTF engines. The airline plans to expand its fleet with this engine type to 93 aircraft in the near future.
Rick Deurloo, president and chief executive officer of Pratt & Whitney, commented on Vietjet's continued confidence. He stated that Vietjet's decision to continue selecting GTF engines after a decade of partnership demonstrates the Vietnamese airline's trust in this technology. GTF engines will help Vietjet optimize operational efficiency as it expands its flight network.
According to Pratt & Whitney, GTF engines are the most efficient in the narrow-body aircraft segment. They achieve up to 20% reduction in fuel consumption and a 75% reduction in noise. To date, more than 2,600 GTF-powered aircraft have been delivered to over 90 airlines worldwide. The new GTF Advantage version is expected to enter service this year, offering increased payload, extended range, and double the on-wing operational time.
