Vietnam Lottery Company Limited (Vietlott) announced that its revenue exceeded the VND 8,750 billion target set by the Ministry of Finance by 11%. Vietlott is a state-owned enterprise, with the Ministry of Finance holding 100% of its capital.
According to Vietlott's leadership, revenue growth stemmed from several factors. The company introduced one additional quick-draw lottery product mid-year, bringing its total number of active products to 7. Regarding its terminal distribution channel, Vietlott expanded its sales points to 6,230 and increased agent commissions from 8% to over 11%. The phone distribution channel now boasts 3.7 million accounts, an increase of 1.2 million since the beginning of the year, and has partnered with dozens of e-wallets and banking applications.
Last year, Vietlott recorded 32 million winning tickets, with total prize payouts exceeding VND 5,340 billion, averaging about VND 15 billion daily.
Among these, 61 sets of numbers won the Power 6/55 jackpot, totaling over VND 1,000 billion. In July, a self-employed business owner in TP HCM won a jackpot exceeding VND 344 billion – the highest amount since Vietlott began operating its computerized lottery in 2016.
By regulation, local budgets receive all revenue from Vietlott's computerized lottery business activities (nearly 30% of ticket sales revenue, including taxes and after-tax profits). Due to robust revenue growth, Vietlott's contribution to local budgets also increased by 20% compared to the previous year, reaching nearly VND 2,500 billion.
This year, Vietlott plans to implement new distribution channels and enhance existing products. In last year's plan, the company had mentioned its goal of submitting a proposal to the Ministry of Finance to add an Internet distribution channel.
