The Department of Education and Training announced the results of the city-level 12th-grade outstanding student competition on the morning of 13/3. This marks the first time the Department has disclosed the number of awards by school.
This year's competition saw 242 high schools participate, with 223 schools having students win awards. Of these, 65 are private schools, and the remainder are public.
Among the 8 schools with over 100 awards, Le Hong Phong specialized high school led the list with 305 awards. Le Quy Don specialized high school (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau) and Tran Dai Nghia specialized high school followed, securing 202 and 177 student awards respectively.
The subsequent positions are held by Gia Dinh high school (156 awards), Nguyen Thuong Hien high school (142), Mac Dinh Chi high school (125), and Hung Vuong specialized high school (117).
Ho Chi Minh City's first 12th-grade outstanding student competition after the merger took place on 4/3, with over 9,000 students participating across 11 subjects. English proved the most popular, attracting up to 1,200 participants. Mathematics and Literature followed, each with over 1,000 students.
For each subject, the award distribution for first, second, and third prizes was 5%, 20%, and 35% of the total, respectively. First-prize winners received a reward of 12 million VND from the city.
