Academy of Finance increases tuition, converts IELTS from 5.5

The Academy of Finance (AOF) adds two new combinations including informatics, converts IELTS scores from 5.5 for combined admission, and increases annual tuition by 5-7 million dong for standard programs.

On 12/3, the Academy of Finance announced it would admit 6,120 students using several methods: direct admission, combined admission, and national high school graduation exam scores.

For admission based on national high school graduation exam scores, the academy utilizes 6 combinations: A00 (math, physics, chemistry), A01 (math, physics, English), D01 (math, literature, English), D07 (math, chemistry, English), X06 (math, physics, informatics), and X26 (math, informatics, English). Compared to last year, the academy added two combinations that include informatics.

For combined admission, the Academy of Finance considers candidates with good academic performance throughout their three years of high school. If a candidate also possesses international certificates such as an IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent TOEFL iBT, SAT 1050/1600, ACT 22/36, or a third prize or higher at the provincial level, they will be grouped separately for these achievements to be factored into their scores.

Depending on the candidate's achievements, the academy applies different admission score calculation methods. These may involve combining high school academic transcript scores with converted scores from international certificates or excellent student awards, or combining high school academic transcript scores with national high school graduation exam scores.

Specifically, candidates with IELTS and other international certificates, as well as excellent student awards, will have their scores converted to a 10-point scale as follows:

For the 2026 intake, the Academy of Finance's tuition fee for standard programs is projected to be 25-35 million dong per year, an increase of 5-7 million dong compared to last year.

International certificate-oriented programs will cost 50-55 million dong. Joint training programs will cost 75-80 million dong for years studied domestically, with the final year's tuition abroad following the rates of the partner university in the UK. Tuition fees for these programs remain comparable to last year.

The academy stated that tuition fees might change in subsequent academic years; any increase would not exceed 10% compared to the previous year.

Details on admission quotas and methods for the Academy of Finance:

Last year, the Academy of Finance's benchmark scores ranged from 21 to 26.6, with auditing being the highest.
