Dai hoc Bach khoa TP HCM benchmark scores rise, with highest at 85.8/100

Most programs at Dai hoc Bach khoa TP HCM saw an increase in benchmark scores, with semiconductor engineering reaching the highest at 85.8 points.

On the afternoon of 8/9, the admissions council of Dai hoc Bach khoa, Dai hoc Quoc gia TP HCM, announced the benchmark scores for 2026. These admission scores are based on a comprehensive method, which includes bonus points and priority points, if applicable.

For the standard program, several majors have benchmark scores of 80 or higher: computer science, computer engineering, the electrical - electronics - telecommunications - automation - integrated circuit design group, mechanical engineering, mechatronics engineering, industrial management, the logistics management group, engineering physics, naval architecture and aeronautical engineering, semiconductor engineering, nuclear engineering.

In its first year of admissions, semiconductor engineering recorded the highest admission score at the university with 85.8 points, surpassing computer science. The lowest score at the university was for petroleum engineering, at 55.76 points.

Most training programs saw benchmark scores increase by approximately 0,5 to nearly 13 points. The major with the sharpest increase in admission scores was information technology, a program awarded by University of Technology Sydney, rising from 57.38 to 70.18 points.

Details of Dai hoc Bach khoa TP HCM's 2026 benchmark scores are as follows:

Admitted candidates must confirm their enrollment on the systems of the Ministry of Education and Training and the university before 17h on 21/8. New students must also submit their applications directly at the university from 16-21/8. Three days later, they will begin the new academic year.

This year, Dai hoc Bach khoa TP HCM (HCMUT) admits over 6.000 students. The majority (95-99%) are admitted through a comprehensive evaluation method based on high school academic records, high school graduation exam scores, and competency assessment scores. HCMUT's admission score calculation formula is as follows:

Comprehensive admission score = Academic performance score + Bonus points + Priority points

In which, Academic performance score = (Competency assessment score) x 70% + (Converted high school graduation exam score) x 20% + (Converted high school academic record score) x 10%.

Tuition fees for Dai hoc Bach khoa TP HCM's 2026 admissions cohort range from approximately 31,5 to 88 million VND per year.

Last year, the university admitted over 5.500 students. Admission scores ranged from 55.05 to 85.41/100, with computer science being the highest.
