Universities begin announcing benchmark scores today

Foreign Trade University, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City University of Science and Technology, and the Banking Academy are among many institutions releasing benchmark scores starting this afternoon, August 9.

Foreign Trade University and the Banking Academy announced they would release benchmark scores after 11 a.m. today, following the completion of six rounds of virtual filtering for applications. Hanoi University of Science and Technology is scheduled to announce its scores at 2 p.m., while Ho Chi Minh City University of Science and Technology will do so at 5 p.m.

Many other universities are also publishing their benchmark scores today. These include the University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City; Vietnamese-German University; Vietnam Women's Academy; Academy of Policy and Development; Phenikaa University; and Dai Nam University.

The scheduled announcement times for 2026 benchmark scores are as follows:

This year, over 1.2 million candidates took the high school graduation exam, a record number. Nearly 875,000 of these candidates registered for university admissions, submitting a total of more than 7.18 million applications. On average, each student applied to more than eight programs.

After receiving their results, candidates must confirm their admission online through the Ministry of Education and Training's system by 5 p.m. on August 21. They will also complete other procedures according to each university's schedule.

New students can look up tuition fees for 120 universities.
