FPT Telecom and Ministry of Public Security provide 12 STEM classrooms to disadvantaged schools

FPT Telecom, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Security, donated 12 STEM classrooms in Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, Dak Lak, Can Tho, and Tay Ninh on 5/9, opening opportunities for students in disadvantaged regions to access technology.

The classrooms are set to be operational for the 2026-2027 academic year. The school in Nghe An received its STEM classroom on 28/8.

Each classroom features equipment for science and technology learning and experimentation, including robot assembly kits, robot competition arenas, Neo One computer battlegrounds, 3D printers, and animation stations. Students can directly assemble, test, control, and create with these tools.

FPT Telecom also sponsors FPT Internet and FPT Play in the classrooms, supporting teaching and learning activities. Through these practical spaces, students gradually engage with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), while also familiarizing themselves with artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT), robotics, and digital skills.

Additionally, experts in the STEM field train teachers at these schools, guiding them on activity organization, enabling them to proactively implement programs.

This project aligns with the Ministry of Public Security's social welfare policy for the 2026-2030 period, promoting the "ba nhat" (three bests) emulation movement. It aims to support disadvantaged areas and contribute to developing high-quality human resources. FPT Telecom partners with schools to build modern learning environments, helping students access science and technology.

Senior Colonel Hoang Viet Anh, Chairman of FPT Telecom, stated that technology's value extends beyond connectivity; it also creates new opportunities for people, especially the younger generation.

According to him, each STEM classroom is a space for students to explore, practice, and create, fostering a love for science and technology and enabling them to envision their future with confidence. This also represents FPT Telecom's continued pioneering spirit over the past 30 years through its community contributions.

The initiative also marks FPT Telecom's 30th anniversary (31/1/1997 – 31/1/2027), continuing its journey of bringing connectivity and technology closer to communities. Through this project, the company aims to transform its technological and connectivity strengths into practical societal values, especially for the younger generation who will shape Vietnam's future human resources and technological landscape.

Funding for the STEM classrooms comes from the "FoxSteps - 30 billion steps of Pioneering Spirit" program, launched by FPT Telecom in March. Through running and walking, FPT Telecom employees and their families nationwide accumulate steps, aiming for a goal of 30 billion steps to contribute to the fund for building STEM classrooms, coinciding with the company's 30th anniversary.

Moving forward, FPT Telecom will continue to collaborate with the Ministry of Public Security to donate STEM classrooms to more disadvantaged, remote, and secluded schools nationwide. The company hopes each classroom will not only be a place for students to learn about technology but also an opportunity to discover their own potential.
