Hoang Minh Son appointed director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi

Hoang Minh Son, deputy minister of education and training, has been appointed president of the university council and director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi by the prime minister.

The decision was signed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on 3/9.

Mr. Son, 56, from Hung Yen, received his doctorate in control and automation from Dresden University of Technology, Germany, in 1998. In 2006, he was appointed associate professor.

As a lecturer in the faculty of electrical engineering, Mr. Son held various positions at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, including head of the training department, vice principal in charge of science and technology, postgraduate training, international training, communications, and public relations.

In 2015, he was appointed principal of Hanoi University of Science and Technology and on 6/8/2020, he became chairman of the university council. Two months later, he was appointed deputy minister of education and training by the prime minister.
