President's letter to the education sector for the new school year

President Luong Cuong sent a letter to encourage the education sector on the occasion of the new school year, recalling President Ho Chi Minh's entrustment and belief in the younger generation 80 years ago.

The opening of the 2025-2026 school year takes place amidst the joy and pride of the nation celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. The president recalled President Ho Chi Minh's letter to students on the first school day after Vietnam gained independence, expressing his immense love and strong belief that the young Vietnamese generation would bring the country to glory, standing shoulder to shoulder with powerful nations worldwide.

"His sacred wish still echoes, reminding you to constantly study and practice to be worthy of the sacrifices and contributions of previous generations, contributing to the cause of protecting, building, and developing the country," the president wrote.

He assessed that in the past school year, the education sector has proactively and actively improved many important mechanisms, policies, and laws to innovate and develop education and training in the new period.

The new general education program has been fully implemented from grades 1 to 12, affirming the initial success of the general education renovation process. Vietnamese students continue to achieve high results in international and regional Olympic competitions, contributing to enhancing the position of Vietnamese education internationally.

The president acknowledged and considered these to be commendable efforts of teachers and students nationwide, helping to spread faith and social support for the cause of innovating and developing the country's education.

2025-2026 is the first school year to take place in the new context after the country completed the rearrangement of administrative units, implementing the two-level local government model. It is also the first school year to implement Resolution 71 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education development.

He hopes the education sector will focus on successfully implementing the theme of the school year: Discipline - Creativity - Breakthrough - Development. The sector needs to continue towards the goal of forming and comprehensively developing individuals in terms of knowledge, morality, skills, bravery, and aspiration, meeting the requirements of rapid and sustainable development of the country in the era of national resurgence.

The president believes that students will continue to nurture their dreams, constantly study and train, and become patriotic, responsible citizens, full of compassion and aspiration to build an increasingly prosperous and happy country.

For teachers and administrators, he hopes they will maintain their enthusiasm and love for the profession, constantly innovate and create, and build a happy learning environment for students.

"I hope parents, with love and responsibility, will continue to accompany schools and society in taking care of the future generation," he said.

The opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year on the morning of 5/9 was held simultaneously across the country. After a few brief activities, schools connected to the Ministry of Education and Training's ceremony at the National Convention Center (Hanoi).
