Tran Nguyen Thanh Ha, a 24-year-old from Dong Nai province, was honored as the valedictorian of the e-commerce program with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.64/4 at last week's graduation ceremony.
A year ago, her twin sister, Tran Nguyen Ngoc Ha, graduated as the valedictorian of the logistics and supply chain management program with a GPA of 3.95.
A UEF representative said this was the first time such a feat had occurred in the university's history.
"I was surprised because I didn't think both of us would achieve this. When I found out, I was very happy because all our efforts were rewarded," Thanh Ha said.
Before university, both sisters took a gap year or two, initially planning to study abroad in Germany and Canada. However, the Covid-19 pandemic led them to change their plans. They chose UEF, receiving 50-100% scholarships thanks to their academic records and strong English language skills.
Thanh Ha achieved a 905/990 on the TOEIC and holds a B2 German certificate (level 4/6). Ngoc Ha also holds a TOEIC certificate with a score of 910/990.

Thanh Ha attributes her academic success to focusing during lectures, completing all assignments, and actively contributing to class discussions.
For practical assignments, she consulted various reputable sources to enrich her work. When studying theoretical subjects, she focused on reviewing and noting down key points and expansions provided by the instructors.
Ngoc Ha said she didn't have any special methods besides diligently reading English textbooks and referencing numerous reports related to her field of study.
Both sisters currently work in their respective fields. Ngoc Ha plans to pursue higher education after gaining practical experience in the logistics sector.
